As in a normal linux you can switch to the command line with Ctrl-Alt-F1 and back to the graphical mode with Ctrl-Alt-F7. The installer that you can download here knows a parameter which activates busy box on the command line. To do so add BUSYBOX=1 to the command line. BusyBox is something like a mini linux environment, containing various useful tools like a "vi" editor and various networking tools.
