This article on pcworld says that Intel adapts Android for Atom processors. While it is not really news to us that it works, it is interesting that Intel itself shows interest in Android for x86. |

More and more mobile android powered devices enter the market, but the number of netbooks and bigger devices running the android operating system out of the box is still very small. Google itself seems to put more energy in the development of Chrome OS than on porting the droid to the x86 platform. But there is hope! The guys over at android-x86.org are working hard on exactly that task.

New Build of Android x86 1.6 available! |

They guys over at android-x86.org have published a new stable build of the 1.6 branch. Here are the key features of this release
- Camcorder works. You can record video and sound
- An experimental support of 3G USB modem
- mksh, a better shell is added to replace android's dumb sh.
- busybox is added to provide useful command line tools.
- Touchscreen calibration (back port from eclair-x86).
- Third party apps are updated.
- A lot of bug fixes.
You can download a CD ISO image or an image ready to boot from a memory stick in the download section or from android-x86.org. Thank you guys, for your great work!
